Dear Family Member/ Designated Representative,

I am very happy to report that we continue to not have any residents presenting with new COVID related symptoms nor have any COVID related fatalities. We are working very diligently to maintain that trend. However we have been notified that two of our residents have tested positive. Thankfully, neither resident is symptomatic at this time and they have both been transferred to our isolation unit.  Please rest assured that we are taking all appropriate precautions in ensuring the continued safety of our residents and the rest of our staff. In following with NYSDOH guidelines we are also suspending visitation pending the results of resident testing. We will update you when visitation reopens. In the mean while we encouraged you connect with your loved ones through video chat, calling, texting, or other social media formats. Please contact the activity department to arrange such services. You may also contact your Social Worker at 718-461-5000 for any emotional support you may require or to answer questions you have about your loved one.

I would also like to remind you that our COVID-19 hotline phone number (718-321-1984) is still active and available to call should you wish. In compliance with the current guidance from the New York State Department of Health, this hotline will be updated within 24 hours regarding any new developments, positive or negative (resolved cases, new cases or virus related deaths ), that take place in the facility. The hotline will also be updated if visitation is paused due to an increase in positive cases.

I am happy to report that we have informed that the facility will be receiving our first dose of the Pfizer COVID Vaccine on January 7th . It will be a 2 step vaccine and administered by CVS pharmacy. We already have begun to reach to the residents, family members and staff to ascertain how many people will want to be vaccinated. If you wish to have your loved one vaccinated, please make sure you complete and return the consent form as soon as possible.

Again, I thank you for your support of our Resident’s and staff during this time.  I also thank you for your patience while we all navigate the fluid COVID-19 Pandemic.
